Şaban Göcmen worked in the restaurant industry in the early 1990s. Daily operations were characterized by physical strain, time pressure, and tools that were not designed for continuous professional use. Cutting doner meat by hand was particularly inefficient, exhausting, and imprecise.
Instead of accepting this situation, he began searching for a technical solution.
Development based on practical experience
With a technical background in mechanical engineering, Şaban Göcmen developed the first electric cutting systems—not in a laboratory, but in direct collaboration with other restaurateurs. The devices were tested, improved, and reused during ongoing operations.
CEYLAN GmbH was founded in 1994. From the outset, the goal was clear: to develop kitchen technology that could withstand the rigors of everyday use—not just the requirements of a catalog.
Growth with responsibility
The brand was built up step by step:
